- Dortmund have missed their the last four Champions League trips to England
- Haaland scores nine goals goals in his recent four City games.
- City have scored just shy of 4 goals per match in the last 8 home matches with Bundesliga teams.
- Five of City's most recent six matches have seen more than 3.5 goals scored
The week was difficult for Dortmund
After being beaten 3-0 by Marco Rose's former boss RB Leipzig at the weekend and there's a tougher reunion planned to Borussia Dortmund. They will travel to the Etihad which is where they will play their old number nine star Erling Haaland.
The visitors will be playing a derby match against Schalke to be looking forward to on the weekend ahead, so it's an extremely busy week for Dortmund. After the 3-0 loss to the top scoring City team is definitely an achievement, particularly since Dortmund have been beaten in their last four games against English teams during the Champions League.
The Haaland inspired Haaland is causing problems
Haaland has scored 25 goals over his 20 Champions League appearances, the most of any player in the first 20 games of the tournament. The record is in part due to the fact that he scored the net in just 13 matches with Borussia Dortmund, Europe's top competition.
Haaland is on track to be only the second player following Ciro Immobile in the past - to score the Champions League goal for and against Dortmund. With nine goals scored in the last four games for City He's expected to score several.
Citizens will cruise for a chance to victory
The hosts haven't had to use Haaland to cause damage against German teams before. City have been able to win their most recent eight home matches against German teams during the Champions League by an impressive total score of 30-9 - that's less than four goals per game.
They pounded Sevilla for four games a week ago, which means they've scored 22 goals in the last six games while conceding six times during this stretch. The Citizens have had more than 3.5 goals score in five of the six games, and last season's group stage was a shambles. Dortmund lose 3-1 and 4-0 against Ajax after a 3-1 loss at Sporting. The game will be a high-scoring one and over 3.5 goals being the most likely option.
Manchester City are unbeaten in their recent twenty Champions League home games, winning 18 times and drawing 2. However, Dortmund have lost 10 of their 17 away games in the competition, which means City could get huge wins. Bet on them to build on their excellent scoring form with a win of 4-1.
